Temperature Indicating Sticks

Temperature Indicating sticks are used to help ensure the proper fusion temperature has been reached on the fusion faces. Two indicators are used to indicate that the fusion faces are above the minimum level required but below the maximum allowable temperature. It is important that the temperature on the fusion faces are measured since these surfaces are in contact with the HPDE fittings and pipe. The temperature on the fusion iron should only be used for general reference since it is measuring the internal tool temperature, not the temperature at the fusion faces.

NOTE: Geo-Flo prefers the use of a direct measurement tool such as a digital thermocouple thermometer (pyrometer) to more accurately measure and control the temperature of the fusion faces.
